Lita Stays Ltd

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 May 2026

1. Who we are

Lita Stays Ltd (Company No. 16743040) is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can see our registration here.

2. What data we collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email address, password), making or managing bookings (contact details and payment information), and communicating with us. When you list a property with us, we may ask you to provide information and documentation about that property and about the host's identity for verification purposes. We may also collect usage data, device information, and cookies when you use our platform.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to create and manage your account, verify your identity, verify hosts and their properties, process bookings and payments, send booking confirmations and service communications, improve our platform and services, comply with legal obligations, and administer our Stay and Support community initiative.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the basis of contract performance (to fulfil your booking), legal obligation (compliance requirements), and legitimate interests (platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

5. Sharing your data

We share data solely to facilitate booking. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may disclose data where required by law or a regulatory authority.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. This is typically while your account is active and, thereafter, only for the period required to meet our legal obligations or legitimate business purposes. Once it is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to any legal retention obligations.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@litastays.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Local storage

To keep you signed in, our platform stores a session identifier (user ID) in your browser's local storage. This is a technical necessity for the app to function and does not track your browsing activity. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings, which will sign you out of your account.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Payment data is handled by trusted third-party payment providers and, where applicable, processed via secure bank transfer; full payment card details are not stored on our systems.

10. International transfers

Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. The current version is always available at www.litastays.com.
